June 28, 2016 - Sitka, Alaska

The flight from Boise to Seattle was delayed for about 45 minutes so when we landed in Seattle we boarded the flight to Sitka as soon as we got to the gate. For most of the flight to Sitka there was relatively clear skys so we were either looking at the interior mountains or the thousands of islands that dotted the coastline.

We were met at the airport by the cruise line personal and Myron and I were shuttled to the Motel 6. Linda and Paul are at a different hotel. In the "it's a small world" department the shuttle driver knew my friend Julene from Northwest Nazarene University.

Myron and I spent the afternoon hiking part of the Gavin Hill Trail. Our hike was a little over five miles and included 1,400' of elevation gain. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. This evening we joined Linda and Paul for dinner at a local pub.

Tomorrow morning we get picked up at 9:30 for some touring of Sitka before getting on the boat around 3:30 PM.
