We are finally in Edinburgh after a nearly 24 hour delay. We were supposed to leave Boise at 3:40 PM on Saturday but we did not due to mechanical problems. We spent an hour with the gate agent trying to find an alternate itinerary but with no success. Our only option was to leave on Sunday. So we called Peggy to come get us and we repeated the process on Sunday morning flying through Salt Lake City instead of Seattle which got us into Edinburgh at 10:00 AM instead of 3:00 PM.
We got through Customs with no problem and took a bus to within about two blocks of our hotel. We were able to check in early as we were supposed to be there the day before and still had to pay for Sunday night.
We were all very tired from the long flights and little sleep so we decided on a two hour nap before heading out to tour the Festival.
We were on the very crowded streets by 3:00 PM and got to see many street performers and also walked up to the Edinburgh Castle to see the stadium where the Tattoo is being held. We also purchased tickets to tour the Castle tomorrow.
We are all looking forward to a good nights sleep and a full day tomorrow.
