Then we drove to a sheep farm that has the trail going through it. The plan was to leave the van there and hike back to the hotel. Then on our arrival back at the hotel Brian would hitch a ride back to retrieve the van. the Western Ireland Trail is part of the Yellow Man trail system in Ireland. I have asked many people why the name "Yellow Man" and no one was able to give me an answer. We hiked through open pasture land, forests and rocky hillsides. About one third of the hike was on gravel roads. We hiked 9.49 miles with a total elevation gain of 764'.
I woke up this morning with what appears to be some sort of intestinal virus so although I made it I had to make many pit stops (actually behind rock stops). I decided to skip dinner this evening in hopes that things settle down.
Tomorrow we head to Sligo with a hike somewhere along the way.
